Em.

Yep that’s me! I am the writer, photographer and overall keeper of this blog. I love bright colors, curved metals, bohemian styles, music, art, and adventure. I currently practice photography, jewelry making, metal working, woodworking, and animal training. Soon I will be practicing piano and massage therapy.

My Love.

This is my long time boyfriend. He is the worker, although he does take hold of the camera every now and then. He loves strong earthy colors, heavy wood and metals, rustic styles, music, tools, and adventure. He is a diesel mechanic for work, but enjoys spending his free time practicing woodworking and blacksmithing. He loves to build and create, and perfect all the techniques involved.

T-Bone & Tank.

You will see these two quite a bit. These are my wonderful pups. They love to be in our company as much as they can, whether it would be watching the work from an out-of-the-way location or on our feet while relaxing on the sofa. They definitely are Momma’s pride and joy.

Baby Girl & Lou Boo.

These silly cats may appear in pictures every now and then. Although they are very playful and enjoy being loved on, they do not like to be where the noise is. The saying, “Curiosity killed the cat” rings so true for these mischievous little fur balls.

This Home of Ours is an on going journal of our adventures in owning our first and very own home. This is where we share all the lessons learned, dreams and plans, tutorials, room-by-room improvements, pet decor and outdoor ventures. We aim to purchase mostly off discount racks, thrift stores, and garage sales, then refinish as we need.

We hope to inspire you to learn, explore, and create. To learn to re-use and recycle. And to help you along the way with our step-by-step tutorials.
